Kyoto Marathon!

There were a lot of people at the marathon this morning. I think it was something like 16,000 runners or some crazy number like that. It felt like a lot more though, they just kept coming through the corner in huge groups, never stopping. At the beginning there was this one guy, a super professional marathoner. And he came in like 20 minutes before the other super elite runners did. (He won) There were groups of people running behind pace-setters with gold balloons tied to their backs, like there was a 3 hour one and 3 and a half hour one. But the guy in front, his pace-setter was a motorcycle, and he was keeping up with it pretty well too. Pretty much whenever someone ran by we had to yell "gambare!" which means "keep going! Do your best!" eventually you forget what you're even saying, and you say something really funny. This was the marathons 40th anniversary and it was sponsored by super Mario bros. So every once in a while you would see Mario or Luigi run by. My hands still hurt from clapping for 3 hours straight.
